On Thursday 11th of June, we had our digital event experience Microsoft Tech Forum: Sweden – A Virtual Gathering Around the Latest Buzz. Below is a summary of the two-hour live broadcasted event, and for each block you will find valuable links to deep-dive material so that you can learn more.
Block 1: Learnings from Covid-19 [30 mins]
Henrik Byström, Business Group Lead Modern Workplace at Microsoft Sweden, kicked off the event by talking to us through how we went digital in 7 days. We learned that distance working will continue to accelerate, and focus will be on security. Marcus Murray from Truesec explained the correlation between the Covid-19 spread and the number of security attacks. Fortunately, Murray went through some strategies so we could learn how to stay secure.
Tommy Clarke from Altitude365 then took over by telling us how some organizations were more prepared than others. He talked us through FastTrack, Split tunneling, and how to move services to the cloud.
Lastly, Alexander Strauss-Köhn and Peter Åkerberg from Stockholm Stad skolor joined the stage and shared their experiences of the digital transformation journey during this time, as well as shared knowledge on how to move forward from an educational point of view.

Block 2: Best of Build [45 mins]
300 000 viewers attended this year’s virtual edition of Microsoft Build and Sweden had one of the highest levels of attendance in Europe with more than 3700 virtual participants. Tibi Covaci, Developer Audience Lead at Microsoft Sweden and Peter Drougge, Technical Architect Data & AI at Microsoft Technology Center, hosted a panel discussion along with Johan Öbrink, SEB, and Jessica Engström from AzmDev. Together they took a closer look at the highlights of Microsoft Build. We learned about Microsoft Fluid framework, bot development, Winget, GitHub Codespaces, Cognitive services updates, OpenAI, to name a few.
Claire Novotny, Executive Director of .NET Foundation, Simona Cotin – Principal CDA, were virtual guests and talked us through .NET/.NET 5/.NET Maui/Blazor and Static Web Apps.

Block 3: Be Future Ready [30 mins]
In this third block the focus was on how we move forward to be future ready, and how Microsoft is investing big to support you – Microsoft for Startups, Microsoft Reactor, Microsoft Learn are all initiatives on how we work with our customers on their digitalization journey, together with our partners.
Johan Öbrink, Digital strategist at SEB, joined us on stage to talk about how to set yourself up for innovation. He was followed up by Peggy Poon, our Microsoft for Startups lead in Sweden, who shared her knowledge on how new businesses can scale and grow with the help of our Microsoft-customer-partner ecosystem. Last, but not least, Love Dager, Program Manager Reactor Stockholm and Jennifer Ritzinger, General Manager Microsoft Reactor, discussed why Microsoft Reactor is opening in Sweden and the exciting events that will be launched for the developer community.
