When it comes to construction, all components must come together in a timely manner in order to produce the optimum product. While Etex, a Belgian building solution manufacturing company, helps make this a reality on a day-to-day basis, it wanted to find a way to enhance productivity and collaboration internally.

With locations across more than 42 countries employing more than 15,000 people, Etex saw digital transformation as the key to enhancing its internal processes and, in turn, providing a better service to customers. This began with the rollout of Office 365, in a move to unite disparate teams and information; boosting collaboration between branches to develop a single, integrated family. With around 99% of IT users now on Office 365, the productivity benefits are already showing, with employees better equipped to communicate using simple and consistent tools. The company has also unified much of its data, migrating multiple workloads to the Microsoft cloud to reduce cost and complexity, with plans in place to operate entirely in the cloud in the near future. With employees using cloud-based tools and company workflows hosted in the cloud, Etex intends to drive collaboration both internally and externally, thanks to the opportunities modern applications and infrastructure provide. “Etex needed to become more digital towards its customers, which only makes sense if you are digital internally.”

Dirk Altgassen, Group CIO, Etex
