Ego-system or eco-system? How to achieve collaboration between start-ups and enterprises
The keyword that determines successful collaboration between start-ups and enterprises is trust.
Sopra Steria Scale up and Microsoft for Startups assembled 35 start-ups and enterprises in October 2019, which they invited on a cruise ship to Copenhagen to discuss innovation. The very first “Open Innovation Cruise” in Northern Europe was organized to gain a better understanding of how to achieve successful collaboration between start-ups and enterprises to achieve innovation.

Open Innovation Cruise 2019
Microsoft Norway’s startup team and Sopra Steria Scale up organized Open Innovation Cruise 2019 on October 15th to October 17th. Thank you Sopra Steria for a fantastic collaboration with organizing this event, and a huge thank you to all the 55 participants from 30 different startups and 6 enterprise organizations.

Microsoft-ildsjelene hentet hjem globalt startupprogram
Silje Gulbrandsen og Izabela Hawrylko er blant dem som i snart ett år, har jobbet på spreng med å tilby Microsofts startup-program også på hjemmebane.
Det tidligere BizSpark-programmet ble i fjor erstattet med den globale organisasjonen Microsoft for Startups med ulike akseleratorer – i Europa stasjonert i London, og Berlin.

Hackathon: Reinventing Education
In September 2020, Microsoft, together with Nordic Edge Innoasis, will host a digital hackathon with focus on innovation in education.
We invite startups, developers, students, and everyone passionate about technology and making a difference in our society to be a part of it.
We are in the middle of a challenging time due to Covid-19, and with the urgent need to change how we provide learning, there is an urgent need to innovate. The timing is now, and we see a huge potential for innovative solutions to help teachers and schools provide the best solutions for their students. Even if it is time spent on administrative tasks, or on following up with parents, it is crucial time spent away from the ones who should get the teachers attention. There is a demand for solutions to help teachers save time where it is possible, so that they can spent it on what truly matters: the students and their learning.

GrepS - Building for scale
GrepS wants to revolutionize how we measure software engineering skills of developers and their teams by focusing on real life IT-environments. Therefore, GrepS is working together with Microsoft for Startups both globally and locally here in Norway and are using Azure as their platform. It is very exciting to see that a company like GrepS who developed their solutions based on 15 years of empirical research chose to build their skill analysis platform on Azure. Azure as a global platform gives GrepS what they need to scale their business and achieve the success they are aiming for.

InfoTiles - making sense of data
InfoTiles is making sense of data for cities and utilities, by providing new insights into trends and patterns. The solution is a Software-as-a-Service that streams data from sensors (IoT), open data sources, plants, SCADA and legacy systems. Enabling cities and utilities to act faster and minimize loss of resources. The solution is used for predicting and acting on, for instance, water leakages, flooding, waste management and air quality. InfoTiles is working together with Microsoft using Azure as their technical platform.

Teknologiselskapet Mentis Cura AS har jobbet med å knekke koden for bedre diagnostikk av demens, en av de globale helseutfordringene for en stadig eldre befolkning.
