The Dutch manufacturing industry is facing major challenges. <\/span>One of those is<\/span> a<\/span>n<\/span> aging <\/span>workforce<\/span> that <\/span>threaten<\/span>s<\/span> further<\/span> growth<\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/strong>M<\/span>anufacturing is a <\/span>vibrant<\/span> sector <\/span>in the Netherlands <\/span>that has successfully reinvented itself in recent years. <\/span><\/span>Look for instance to the spectacular growth of machine industry.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> But after <\/span>several prosperous<\/span> years, threats are now lurking. <\/span>Take <\/span>for example <\/span>high transport costs, shortages of raw materials<\/span> and<\/span> commodities that are becoming increasingly expensive. <\/span>Meanwhile <\/span>labor<\/span> is becoming <\/span>more expensive<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span><\/span> and <\/span><\/span><\/span>resulting in <\/span><\/span><\/span>some <\/span>strategically important manufacturing industr<\/span>ies<\/span> are<\/span> returning to the <\/span>W<\/span>est<\/span>, for instance microchip production.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
